Really comfortable and well constructed nursing bra, April 16, 2010

I’ve been wearing Elle McPherson’s “La Mere” nursing bras, and while they are beautiful and easy to use vis-a-vis nursing, they are not particularly supportive. The Anita #5051 is a little matronly, but leagues better stylistically than many nursing bras out there. It’s not sexy but it’s kind of cute and really comfortable. It has great shoulder straps, nice coverage in the back so there is no bulging (at least for me), a super supportive band under the breasts as well as great seaming around and between the breasts. I find that it is comfortable during the day and for sleeping. I’ve only had it a few days so I can’t speak to durability but it seems to be very well made so I’m hopeful. The one downside is that it only has three settings at the back, versus Elle McPherson’s which come with six. I have been nursing my baby for ten months and lost some baby weight — three setting would not have been enough had I bought this bra right after the birth. I find that it fits true to size.

The first bra I’ve found that offers great support and has no spandex, Lycra, Elastane, latex, etc. Finally no hives!! I don’t need it for nursing but that’s okay – I’ve searched the internet thoroughly and this is the best I’ve found – and it comes in plus sizes! Not cheap, but worth every penny.

The best supportive softcup bra around!, September 7, 2010

This bra is great. Whether you are large chested or small chested, it works for everyone. It is very supportive and doesn’t have the non-breathable microfiber. I am currently a 36H and find it to be more supportive then some of my underwire bras. I completely recommend this bra!
