I have tried Lansinoh, Medela, Johnson & Johnson, and Playtex nursing pads. The Lansinoh are best overall: great absorbancy, nice countoured shape, and good adhesive that stays in place without bunching up. J&J were also great, but I’d recommend them to women who size A or B since they are smaller in size. Playtex has great absorbancy but they are not at all countoured so they bulge unless you have the perfect bra that will hide a huge bulge. Medela are super thin, therefore much less absorbant, and also the core gets bunched up inside the outer lining so they are almost impossible to unbunch between feedings. The adhesive stinks too, so they don’t stay in place too long. So overall I recommend J&J to smaller women (cup A or B), and the Lansinoh to larger women (cup C and above).

I’ve tried Avent, Gerber, and now Playtex and I love them! I thought the thicker the padding the better so I tried Avent but when my milk came down, I felt the moisture on my boobs and hated that. I went with Gerber b/c they are the cheapest and were thin but I would always soak them up at night and had to change my shirt. I actually had no choice but to buy Pleytex bc the store was out of Gerber and happy that they were out. I have not had one wet shirt or felt the wetness around my boobs! It def locks in the wetness away from my skin. With Gerber, I was going through a box of 60 a week but with Playtex, I only use one pair a day and two if I feel they are too full.

I am a first time mom and when I took on teh task of nursing my son, I was not aware of all that it entailed. I knew from other mommies that I would need nursing pads but no one told me which were the best kind to use. So many people are willing to give you advice on how to raise your child, but they never tell you the little secrets behind it such as nursing pads.
I have a fast flow and produce more than my fair share of milk. I needed something that would handle my issues. I tried several kinds of pads and found that many were too thin, not absorbant enough for a fast flow/let-down, and some were just itchy and uncomfortable. The Playtex nursing pads were wonderful! They stay in place and can hold a substantial amount of milk if you are unable to pump or feed at that time. I know there are many options out there but these were the most comfortable to me. They are soft enough not to hurt aching nipples at the beginning and when your milk comes in, they can handle the leaks.
I have not had any leak issues with these pads. My only complaint is that when they are full… they are FULL. I learned the hard way about forgetting to change them out.

After trying nearly every other brand out there, both cloth and disposable, these are the best I have found so far.
The tapered shape shows less than the kind that are round. They are a good thickness for absorption, and an adequate size to cover what they need to.
I have very sensitive skin and these are the least itchy, with both the edges and the pad being pretty comfortable.
If they were not individually wrapped I might have given them 5 stars- I find this so wasteful!

While the shape of the Playtex pads does provide more coverage than the Lansinoh, I don’t think the extra coverage is as important as absorbency, and I find the Lansinoh are just as good as these in that area. The main reason I won’t be buying these again, though, is the packaging/individual wrappers. The wrapper is glued to the back of the paper covering the sticker on the pad. I guess it’s intended to pull the paper off when you take off the wrapper, and then you stick the pad to your bra. But I don’t find the stickers necessary, so choose to leave the paper on, but then I’m fighting to rip the wrapper off without taking off the paper. The fabric wrapper doesn’t rip well, and then ends up sticking to my fingers. Seriously, lesson #1 when making any product for a nursing mom–make something that can be managed with just one hand! This is just too much work.
